Last but not least we introduce our final addition to the software developing team, Josh! Find out all about this recent Ottawa transplant in his interview below:
What should we know about you?
Unlike most of my SWIX co-workers, I actually moved to Ottawa very recently. I decided I wanted to spice things up, and moving to a new city was the answer. Plus, Ottawa is known as a great place for software development, so it was a good fit. I’m a recent graduate of Computer Science from Memorial University in St. John’s, NL, but have been interested in computers and writing software since my family got our first computer when I was 12.
Even though I could have been voted least athletic person in my entire high school, I love playing ultimate frisbee, especially outdoors in the summer and fall. I’m looking forward to getting involved with the ultimate community up here in Ottawa (if your team is looking for players, let me know!).
I love tea (green especially) and great food. I can usually be found trying to find new restaurants and expanding my palette. One day, I’ll be a great foodie. I’m also a big fan of movies and I like to make music from time to time.
When you’re not working at SWIX, where is the most likely place to find you?
On the ultimate frisbee field, exploring all that Ottawa has to offer, or taking in a movie on the off-nights.
If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life what would be it be?
It would have to be candy because it’s so incredibly delicious. Except candy corn. That stuff is gross.
What type of technology excites you?
Pretty well any new cool device that comes out. My stack of Apple gadgets is growing real fast. I’m also a big fan of web apps – I find them very interesting.
